Siblings Patrick and Brittany Williams have been given the opportunity to run in the 118th Boston Marathon on April 21st, 2014. Both Patrick and Brittany were directly affected by the events surrounding the marathon last year. Brittany was running for Team Mass Eye and Ear and was stopped at mile 25.8. Pat was waiting for his sister at the finish line with their grandmother, as well as many other family members and friends who attended to show their support for Brittany.

On April 15, 2014, Patrick and Brittany attended the marathon tribute event on Boylston Street at the sight of last year’s bombings. A moment of silence was held at 2:49 pm, the exact time the bombs went off a year ago to date. Tribute wreaths were placed at each of the blast sites and were protected by Police Honor Guards throughout the day.
